1. Agreement
These terms are between you and Gayler Enterprises. By downloading, installing or using cocloc, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not install it.
2. Who can use this
You must be 18 or older. cocloc is not licensed to, sold to, or intended for minors. It is not a tool for monitoring anyone else. It is for an adult installing it on their own computer, for themselves.
3. Your licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use cocloc on computers you own or control, for your own use. You may not resell it, redistribute it, or sublicense it.
4. How the software behaves — read this part
cocloc is designed to make certain actions slow on purpose. By installing it you are asking for that.
4.1 The 24-hour gate. On cocloc Lock, the following are requests rather than actions: pausing, unblocking a domain, turning a layer off, and uninstalling. A request is filed now and can be confirmed no earlier than 24 hours later. Tightening is always instant. There is no instant uninstall on Lock, no override, and no emergency unlock. This is a term of the licence, not a defect.
4.2 cocloc Free. On cocloc Free there is no gate. Pausing from the pill or the tray icon is instant and lasts as long as you like, and uninstalling is immediate.
4.3 You remain an administrator. cocloc does not change your Windows account, does not remove your administrator rights, and does not lock you out of your own machine. You retain the technical ability to remove the software through deliberate administrative effort.
4.4 Tamper events. Attempts to stop the service, edit its configuration, delete its files, or remove it outside the gate are recorded in a local log on your machine. You consent to that local logging by installing. If you name an accountability partner — a feature that is not yet built — those events may also be reported to them, and nothing is reported to anyone until you name someone.
5. Acceptable use
Use cocloc only on devices you own or are authorised to control, and only for its intended purpose. Do not use it to monitor another person without their knowledge and consent. Do not distribute modified versions of it.
6. What we do not promise
cocloc does not block all pornographic content, and we do not claim that it does. The built-in blocklist is 121 domains: a curated list of the majors, not an exhaustive one.
Three routes get around network blocking, and we name them rather than imply otherwise:
- A browser configured to use a DNS-over-HTTPS provider the policy does not cover.
- A VPN.
- A raw IP address.
The screen layer is not built and does not run in the software you have. It is described on this site as coming. Nothing in these terms, or anywhere else on this site, should be read as selling it to you as present.
cocloc does not cover devices other than the Windows computer it is installed on. It is not effective against a determined person with administrative access and technical knowledge. It is not a substitute for professional help, medical advice, or any treatment programme.
The 24-hour gate is a delay, not a guarantee. It makes loosening slow, deliberate and logged. It does not make it impossible.
7. Data
Our handling of your data is described in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
8. Payment, renewals and refunds
Payments are not open. cocloc Lock is not purchasable and no payment processor has been chosen. This section describes what will apply once payments open, and will be finalised with the processor named before anyone is charged.
cocloc Lock will be billed at $19 per month and will renew automatically until cancelled.
If you cancel, the lock comes off at the end of your billing period, or 24 hours from now — whichever is later.
The rule behind that sentence: the lock releases at whichever is later of the end of your paid access, or 24 hours after you asked. Cancelling stops future charges; it does not shorten the wait below 24 hours.
One exception. If your subscription ends without you asking — a failed card, a dunning cycle that runs out, a subscription we ended — the lock releases immediately, with no gate.
Refunds: 14 days, in full, no questions. A refund returns your money. It does not remove the software and it does not release the gate. Removal follows the same process it always does. See the refund policy.
9. Updates
Software and blocklist updates are verified before they run. The current build is not code-signed and there is no automatic install: a new version is a file you choose to download and run. We may discontinue updates for old versions.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
cocloc is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will block any particular domain or any particular content.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Gayler Enterprises is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill. Our total liability arising out of these terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
12. Termination
You may terminate by uninstalling. On cocloc Lock, uninstalling runs through the 24-hour gate described in 4.1. We may terminate your licence if you materially breach these terms — for example, by using cocloc on someone else’s device without their consent.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified to customers before they take effect. Continuing to use cocloc after that means you accept them.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION].
