The short version
cocloc runs on your computer. We do not receive your screen, your browsing history, or your traffic. We do not run a server that watches you. There is nothing for us to hand over, sell, or lose.
A few things do leave your machine. This page lists them exactly, and says what they are not.

What happens on your device
- Blocking is local. The blocklist is written into the Windows hosts file on your machine.
- A policy on your machine turns DNS-over-HTTPS off in Chrome, Edge, Brave and Firefox, because a browser resolving DNS inside itself would route around the hosts file.
- The blocklist ships inside the software: 121 domains, plus a 15-domain never-block list for health, recovery and education.
- Your configuration, your gate state and your logs are stored locally, in a location only the system service can write.
The screen layer is not built. Detection code exists in our repository, is tested, and is wired to nothing that ships. Nothing captures your screen in the software you have. When that layer does ship, frames will be analysed in memory on your machine and discarded, and this page will say so plainly before it does.
What never leaves your device
Without exception:
- Your screen, in any form.
- Your browsing history.
- The contents of any connection.
- Decrypted traffic of any kind. No certificate is installed and we decrypt nothing.
- The domains you visited, or tried to visit, or how often you tried.
The part that matters
What does leave your device
On cocloc Lock: four things, and no others.

The payment. Handled by a payment processor. We never see or store your full card number.

An email, if you write to support — your address, and whatever you chose to put in the message.

Partner events, if and only if you name an accountability partner. Coming, not built: nothing in this category is transmitted today, because nothing in this category runs.
- 04
A periodic licence check: your licence key and a random install id, so we know the subscription is live.
The fourth one is not an account and not a profile. It carries nothing about what you did: no browsing, no screen, no domains you visited or tried to visit, no timings, no counts. A key and a random number.
On cocloc Free it is one thing: an email, if you write to support. There is no payment, no licence check, and no partner — the partner is a Lock feature.
No screenshots. No decrypted traffic. No browsing history. Not to us, not to your partner.
Payment
Payments are not open. cocloc Lock is not purchasable and no payment processor has been chosen, so we are not going to name one here and correct it later.
When payments open, the processor we use will handle your card details. We expect to receive your email address and the fact that you paid. We will not see or store your full card number. This section will be rewritten with the processor named before a single payment is taken.
The waitlist
If you join the cocloc Lock waitlist, we store three things:
- Your email address.
- Which tier you asked about.
- A timestamp.
Nothing else. We hold it because you asked us to tell you something, and we use it for exactly that: one message when payments open. No marketing, no sharing, no selling. Ask us and we delete it.
The accountability partner
Coming. Not built. Nothing described here is running today.
What it will carry: events and timestamps. “Uninstall requested at 01:14.” What it will never carry: images, screenshots, browsing history, connection contents, or anything you looked at. It will be optional, it will be Lock-only, and you will be able to see exactly what your partner receives before you turn it on.
This website
cocloc.com is served by Cloudflare Pages. We run no analytics, no advertising and no third-party trackers, and we set no cookies of our own. Cloudflare keeps standard server logs as part of serving the site.
Children
cocloc is for adults. You must be 18 or over. It is not a parental-control or monitoring tool, and we do not knowingly sell it to or collect data from anyone under 18.
Retention
- Local data stays on your machine until you remove the software.
- Waitlist data is kept until payments open, or until you ask us to delete it, whichever is first.
- Support email is kept as long as we need it to answer you and keep a record of the request.
- Purchase records, once payments open, are kept while you are a customer and afterwards for as long as tax law requires.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Email hello@cocloc.com. We aim to answer within 30 days.
Given the list above, the answer is usually short.
Security
On your machine, configuration and gate state are held where only the system service can write them. Updates are verified before they run.
Separately, and worth saying here because it looks alarming if you meet it cold: the current installer is not code-signed, so Windows shows a SmartScreen warning and names the publisher as unknown. The early-access page explains it.
We will never ask you for screenshots, because we cannot receive them.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what leaves your machine, we will say so here, and tell customers before it takes effect.
